Despite this, the sales from only Xbox Series X/S players put it overall 10th position in the sales chart. As it was free to download on PS5, this data is not tracked in the charts.
GTA Online became purchasable as a standalone game for the next gen release on the Xbox Series consoles and free to PlayStation 5 owners. GTA Online’s performance shows the multiplayer component is still a force to be reckoned with. The GSD data shows that it was that Grand Theft Auto Online was the 10th best selling game in the week ending April 10th 2022. How successful was the next gen version of GTA Online? The new gen version is helping it sell copies but does not make up for every single sale. Unlike those new games, GTA V was first releases almost 9 years ago.
Despite dropping down, it is still holding its own against other new titles. Elden Ring also had another strong week taking back a place which Grand Theft Auto V dethroned from it in previous weeks. As reported by using data released by GSD, GTA V was pushed down to 3rd place by the newly released and mega hit LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
